#1 Georgia Gwinnett swept three games at Texas A&M-Texarkana, 6-4, 20-4, Story and 9-1. 1B Zac Rinehart hit a double and a home run in the third game, batted in four runs. Story

The Grizzlies then got their second loss of the season at #8 Tennessee Wesleyan, 13-8. 1B Cody Stroud went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI for the Bulldogs. Story

The Grizzlies visit Cumberland April 6, video Talladega April 8-9, and have a rematch at #4 Faulkner April 12. video The next day, they host #6 Auburn-Montgomery. video

#2 Lewis-Clark State split a double-header at Menlo (ISR #18), winning 6-4, and losing 4-5. C Julian Ramon hit a sacrifice fly for the winning run in the first game. The Oaks got all five of their runs in the second inning of the second game; 1B Garret Gemgnani started the inning with a home run. RF Chris Berry hit a two-RBI single, then Gemgnani drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the winning run. Story

The defending national champions then defeated William Jessup 11-5. They then swept four games at Oregon Tech, 17-2, 7-6, 18-3, and 5-2. CF Jacob Zanon had ten hits and eight RBI in the four games against Oregon Tech. Story

#3 Bellevue swept four games against Dakota State, 13-4, 5-4, 5-1, and 7-1. The third game of the series was a complete nine-inning one-hitter pitched by LHP Braulio Torres-Perez, who pitched a no-hitter last month. Story They then defeated Morningside 3-2. The Bruins were out-hit by Morningside 9-4; the winning run was scored on a hit batter. Story

The Bruins trail #10 Jamestown by ½ game in the North Star Athletic Association. They visit Viterbo April 9-10.

#4 Faulkner lost two of three at William Carey (ISR #14), losing 5-4 (eight innings, scheduled for seven), winning 13-5, and losing 7-6. IN the first game, 3B Cody Christian hit a two-run home run, had three RBI for the game. Story

The Eagles trail #6 Auburn-Montgomery by one game in the Southern States Athletic Conference. The Eagles host Talledega April 6, Martin Methodist April 8-9, and #x Georgia Gwinnett April 12. Video

#5 South Carolina-Beaufort won two of three at #25 Saint Thomas, 8-2, 7-4, and 4-9. LF Matt Klanha went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in the first game. C Dylan Yankle went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in the second game. Story CF Jose Gomez, DH Oscar Aguirre, and 2B Michael Centeno hit home runs for the Bobcats in the third game; Gomez went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Story

#6 Auburn-Montgomery swept Blue Mountain, 6-4, 4-1, and 7-2. RHP Cole Goodwin went the nine-inning distance in the second game, scattered nine hits. Story Starter RHP Kade Suther got the win in the third game; he pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowed two runs on five hits, struck out seven. SS Brandon Davis batted in four runs. Story

The Warhawks play Thomas in Ozark, AL in April 6, then host William Carey (ISR #14) April 8-9.

#7 Westmont played only non-NAIA competition this week. They defeated Saint Katherine 11-1, won two of three against Bethesda, 6-1, 2-4, and 1-0, and defeated Division II Cal State Dominguez Hills 8-3. The third game of the series against Bethesda was decided by an RBI bunt single by 1B Turner Conrad in the bottom of the seventh and final inning. Zach DeMarcus and Sam Sheehan combined for the shutout. Story

The Warriors lead the Golden State Athletic Conference, but are ½ game back of #13 Vanguard. They visit William Jessup April 8-9, and host Providence Christian April 12.

Bob Broughton started going to British Columbia home games in 2001, and was favorably impressed with the caliber of play. This led to annual trips to the NAIA Baseball National Championship in Lewiston, ID, a nine-hour drive from Vancouver. He retired in Guanajuato, Mexico in 2012.
